Why this matters for teenagers

Today’s teenagers increasingly think about how to earn their own money, gain independence and develop themselves at the same time. Some try offline part-time jobs, some create content on social media, and some want to find a more meaningful and useful path. This is where the Tutoring by Teens (TBT) educational initiative comes in: a unique course that combines English, entrepreneurship and tutoring skills.

The project was created by the team of the Green Country school for teenagers aged 14-18 with an English level of B2 or higher.

The aim of the course is to teach teenagers to monetize their English, try themselves as tutors and gain their first professional experience.

The project’s mission

Tutoring by Teens has not only a practical side but also a mission:

  • It makes the teaching profession more popular among young people and helps them see teaching as a modern, interesting and promising occupation.
  • Teenagers learn not just to earn, but to do it responsibly: plan their time and lessons, find clients and promote their services, and understand the basics of finance and even legal issues.

In fact, this course becomes a launchpad for developing an entrepreneurial mindset, and the skills participants gain will stay with them whatever profession they choose in the future.

What the course offers

The program lasts two months and includes several key blocks:

  • teaching methods;
  • entrepreneurship;
  • finance and legal aspects;
  • mentoring support from methodologists and experts.

As a result, teenagers get not just knowledge but a ready-made system that will help them earn their first money on their own.

The grant program

To make learning even more accessible, the organizers are launching a grant program.

In the second cohort, 20 grant places will be awarded: 10 grants covering 100% of the UAH 7,500 tuition and 10 grants covering 40%, worth UAH 3,000.

In addition, all participants who apply will get access to the webinar “Where to find your first students: simple promotion channels for teenagers” by Kristina Zhylina, head of marketing at Green Country.

How to take part

To take part, you need to fill in the application form (in Ukrainian). The 40% grants are awarded at random, while for the 100% grants you also need to write a motivation letter.

TalkEn.Cloud’s role in the project

TalkEn.Cloud’s partnership in this project has a special meaning. Our platform is a tool that lets even a beginner work professionally: with ready-made interactive materials, modern teacher’s guides, analytics, automated tests and convenient personal accounts for themselves and their students.

This means that graduates of the Tutoring by Teens course will be able to provide high-quality services to their students right away, instead of spending months creating their own materials and processes. We believe that solutions like this help young tutors unlock their potential and confidently start out in the profession.

Conclusion

Tutoring by Teens is more than a course. It is a chance for teenagers not only to earn some money but also to learn responsibility, planning, communication with clients and working with modern EdTech tools. Whether you win a grant or join on general terms is up to you. But one thing is certain: the experience gained in this program will become a solid foundation for any future profession.
